i then mounted the billet to the lathe then direst the face off and direst the edge off  the taper of the nose is 7 degres i first drilled out with my bigest drill which is 24mm then set the boring bare up parallel to the work i just yous a squire for that and then set the compound slide to cut the taper  the chuck is a 125mm OD and their is a instruction Manuel with the chuck giving you the bolt fixing PCD and the diameter and the depth of the step in the back of the chuck for mounting on to a face plate  right more pics

once the taper was cut i then turned the billet round to mount on to the taper and to cut and fix the mounting studs with lock tite as you will see in the next pics the face was well out  direst the face off and turn dawn the outer of the billet to 150 MM the billet over all diameter was 200MM  before i started the billet thickens was 15 MM  turned this dawn to 13 MM then turned the mounting flange for the new chuck witch was OD of 95MM by 4.5 deep this left the thickens of the back plate 8.5MM thick for the chuck 4 fixing screws to go in to once this was dun i then turned dawn the outer diameter to 125MM then with the chuck in palace with the aide of a transfer punch i marked out one of the fixing holes  drilled M5 and tap M6 fix the chuck in place with this one fixing point with the M6 cap Head just finger tite i then marked out the opeset  one drilled and then taped M6 and so on till all 4 chuck fixing studs where in place  and that it  next job is to strip and clean the chuck  right pics
