HI all right just a bit on haw i fitted a new 4 jaw chuck to my lathe the chuck came from RDG tools it was well packaged and covered in transport grease which i have left on for the moment as i only had one piece of billet large enough for the job rather than mess this up if i get the PCD wrong I thought it wood be a good idea to mack a template up for further reference and to mack sure that me PCD for the fixing studs are in the right place the way the chucks are held on a compact 8 is by a tapered nose and 3 fixing studs well i had a blond moment no mater haw i tired i cud not get me template to mach the original fixing studs on the back of the 3 jaw Chuck so i asked the forum for help and got it thanks to all that helped their was nothing wrong with the marking out or the drilling of the holes grrrrrrr one of the fixing studs on the original 3 jaw was bent right marked the center of the billet marked out the PCD drilled 6.7MM then taped M8 x 125 screwed in sum studding and placed two nuts on the back of etch one for spacing right pics
