They just poked it right through the door and onto a set of load skates!

Plenty of room for the lathe!

Mill in position and look at all the clear space in the workshop!

BUT,  disaster!  Major cock up! I mis-measured the mounting holes for the lathe tapped inserts!  What a blankety blank idiot!  Now I will have to make adapter plates of some kind!

The new bench looks right at home, in it's new surroundings.  :)

If the only glitch is a mis-measure. Yer've not done too badly!

Hope it is easily sorted........

Like David said it looks right at home. I am sure as you come to using it more and get used to it that you will be glad you went the extra mile to get a solid bench and not be scared to do something different. It seems that no matter how hard we try to make something perfect there is always something that has to happen to spoil it. I am sure that you will work out some adapter plates that will look like they were the original intent. I look forward to hearing many good stories of the good works that come off that lathe and bench in the future.  :D :D

Looks pretty good to me!

Don't worry, there is usually way too little clearance under the lathe anyway. Just make a dry run and find out if the lathe would be actually easier to operate if moved a little closer to edge or something (like fitting the front rail. With a riser blocks you have more leeway with chip tray, cable routting and such. See if it can be turned to a benefit. It's not like a wats are filling and the production has to be started in three hours! Move things around and develop a feel to it.

This will even give you a whole lot easier option on top paintting and other options. You have time, use it!
