Did you not fancy painting it? --- End quote --- Steel bar and steel mesh for reinforcement, it will be painted after the concrete has had a few weeks to mature. I am not sure about the top surface, maybe just a sealer or perhaps a two-pot paint if I find something at a nice price. |

That's an awful nice looking setup John, but it was the shaper which caught my eye! It looks like a travelling head machine, but no good pictures to show all it's glory, do you think you could give a pal a few closer looks at an interesting machine? I don't know what it is, but a shaper always gets my attention, even the new ones with switches and electrical boxes and the like. Good to see everything slide in so nice and easy, they don't always go that way. :jaw:  cheers, mad jack |

Hi Jack..it is a little Adept Nr 2 (powered version), if needs be I can even put my arms around it and carry it across the shop! It is a cute little shaper.....I made an automatic down feed since the picture which works a treat. There will be room on the new bench for this shaper and a cold cut saw plus another, yet unknown, small machine (maybe a drill press). I also have one of the little bandsaws (which must be the most awkward machine ever for finding space for) and a 3 1/2" Drummond lathe c:1908. I would like to put the little lathe on but it is just a tiny bit too long. |

Some more pictures, these show the down feed mechanism and some of the tricky bits for the cross feed... downfeed by aardvark_akubra, on Flickr autofeed by aardvark_akubra, on Flickr |
