Look what one of my "Lads" has just sent me!

It must be over 50 years, since I last saw one. When I first started work.

Lovely condition, except for some spark erosion, on one corner........

It doesn't have a dial. So, I guess it's a ti! Can't find anything on Google.

Anyone else ever come across one?

I have seen a Verdict Junior before but haven't owned one.

I do have something in the same vein:



It's a lovely little caliper with a built in +/- 0.004" indicator. It's 110mm long.

Yeah, I made one of those during my first year as an apprentice.  It did not survive my (1973) house fire, by I remember the hours spent scraping in the (2) 1:10 lever multipliers and the fixturing to solder the (Sø.0625) bearing ball on the (unadjustable) contact tip...

 David, i still have a verdict Ti in my toolbox in its cardboard box probably not been used for 30+ yrs now.

Phill I have never seen  a caliper like that before, always nice to see somthing new.

Somebody made me something along similar lines when I first started model engineering and joined a club. His wasn't calibrated in any way but he called it a wobbler. For centring  things in the 4 jaw etc.

I'm pleased, I stirred a few memories for you all.

Tried to look up the patent....... That No. was issued in 1946.

That's nice Phil! Never seen a comparator caliper before.
