Just a "quick repair" Well, that's what My bruver figured anyway!

So somewhere in the region of 6hrs later (two separate sessions) I have two levers out of a lump of ali cast.

The rest is pic's 


Find a usable lump....
 
Repair that... Sucker!

And make this from that...

Repair that... Sucker!

Then a little "rough and ready" marking out... Used the DRO to find the mark for the hole as well as scribed lines. The rest of these are pretty much free hand.
Repair that... Sucker!

Cut the slot and then round off the edges.

Repair that... Sucker!

A bit of hacking and whacking with a big slot drill and it's taking shape. (I'm not too concerned with the steps in the underside. It's as good as it needs to be)

One finished and one requiring some grip.

Well, that's that.

Just another tick off the list. And bruver is happy.

This was a trade off for two high grade areospace ingots    Incidentally this lump of cast is Japanese cylinder head grade

Those suckers can be expensive, so that's a good fix.

At 1024 x 576, the pics are too wide for my screen; I have to scroll across them unless I reduce to 66%.

Thought some of you might like it.... A little different to my usual work.

Although I did make an arbour and mounting for an alternator pulley so it could be "adjusted" the other day.... Little odd jobs keep turning up.... Like a giant hamster wheel repair (really should have got pic's of that. And the chipmonk kind of things that run like loons in it!)




I think I've sorted the pic's Andy. They're smaller in my Ade's great big shiny gear lever post. Think they'll be ok?

Ralph, as to pic size, 1000 wide is the max that will fit on my screen without zooming out. It must be because my monitor, though flat screen,  isn't one of the CinemaScope ones with a wide aspect ratio.

Your not the only one. I see about 2/3 of the picture and have to use the slider bar at the bottom of the post if I want to see the rest of the picture. Of course if there are several pictures you also have to use the slider bar at the side to go up and down to see the rest of the pictures. It can be a royal pain in the butt trying to look at pictures sometimes. In all fairness this happens with a lot of posters, not just those posted by Ralph.

In FireFox I simply right click on the too big picture and select "View Image" from the drop-down menu.  This displays the entire picture, albeit slightly reduced in size, on a black background.  Hit the back button to get back to what you were reading.

I don't know if this will work on other browsers but it's simple enough to try.

Chrome and IE8 (I think it's IE8 - anyway, the last one which works with XP) don't seem to offer that option, unfortunately.  I gave up Firefox a few months back, when a new version disagreed with my AVG anti-virus. That might have been fixed by now; I must check.

I'm running the latest versions of Firefox (ver. 12) and AVG free (2012 ver.) and don't have any problems.

Chrome and the MS abortion may have a similar capability triggered by something other than right clicking on the picture.  Hopefully some gurus of those browsers will chime in here.

True.... Should read my own words eh!? Told you I changed it all for another purpose and then stuffed up re-setting it 

Have any of you tried just holding down CTRL and then tapping the += and _- buttons? zooms in and out like a mad un on my 'puter 
It's the ones that folks straight upload to the site that engulf my monitor. By the time I've shrunken them down to size the text is about a mm tall!
