Hi all, my name is Ray, i have just started to build the stuart 10v engine from castings for the first time

so i will post some photos of the progress, i would appreciate
your comments and advice here are some photos of where i am at the moment,

here i am tapping the threads in the boxbed after machining, the tapping stand i made myself.

here i had to make a mounting plate because the sherline faceplate was to small

Nice job so far. I haven't built an engine from castings yet, so I don't have comments. However, I can say there are many ways to skin a cat...

Nice work Ray, showing what can be done on a very small machine too.

I haven't built an engine from castings yet either but it's on the long list of projects.

Chris, I've done that again this year, promise myself I'll finish things by christmas but it just isn't happening at the moment!

Ray.... friend..... slow down... this is not a race!!

Well done Ray, you had the lovely situation of being provided with one piece for the bearings. I had two little pieces so drilling them aligned was hard work. Once the cylinder and covers are done you`ll be where I`m up to.

...anyway... no time to type!

Cheers Ray. To be honest, passed both the foundation and intermediate but I have sadly no radio at present. Was planning on doing the full licence this Christmas but have lost a little interest. Too much to do on this 10V to be spending time on the radio lol.

Hi Ray, it's nice to see another casting based engine being built, you're looking very good so far. It looks like you're working to have it done before Christmas at the rate you're going, you should have a nice, well mannered engine very soon now, always another tool that must be bought before a project can be finished. Looking forward to seeing it together, very nice workmanship shown.
