Finger & Thumb Tap Wrench.
« on: September 19, 2009, 12:53:39 PM »
I thought there had to be an easier way, to make a small tap wrench.

I was right!

Buy one of these.......

Press the little black button and take off all these bits n pieces.....

After turning the (soft) ratchet section away, polishing the 7mm shank & loctiting a little knurled flange......

Yer left with one of these......

Works a treat!

Nice mod David

I think something like this is going to skip to the top of my round-to-it-list. Taps-I-Breakem.......

Need to go buy some new M6 taps first I  suppose. Will look out for one of them.

A very nice addition David, bet it'll make tapping much less of a chore now.....
You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)

Thanks for your comments chaps......

I used to use a chuck on a stick.

But this small, proper tap wrench, is a great improvement.  :D
