Hello friends, does anyone have experience in building (DIY) the trepan tool (drill)?
Greetings from Brazil

I've got a val-cut and I've also ground tools to do it.  VERY useful!
Do you need photos?

Here's a few pictures of a carbide trepanning insert , they may help with the cutting geometry.

Bill, does that tool have a tendency to dive towards the centre of the hole ?  Quite aggressive rakes on the tip, something I should really have a play with, what are the tip dimensions hard to judge scale from the pictures.

It's about 3mm groove and about 30mm deep , total length about 65.

Can't say I've noticed it dive in any particular direction ,it is solid carbide.

Cheers Bill, I thought just the tip was carbide.  Nice link Matthew, he was just down the road (a bit) from us, wish I could have seen his place before he wound it up, real shame.

The fancy trepanning tools are run well below centerline, if I remember correctly, and the whole insert is slanted down a lot.  Very funny looking.  I didnt see any dig in issues, even on delrin.
