Device shipments for 2015 on this page show "other" at 23%. So what is "other" in OS terms?

Android seem to be taking a huge chunk out of Windows as well.

'other' has to be Linux seeing it's not specifically listed.
It does appear in the graphs though.

I can't see Linux shipping twice as much as Windows but you could be right I suppose?!

Very unlikely.  Usually other is the sum of all other entries that individually make up less than the smallest broken out category.  If you look further down desktop is broken out and Linux is less than 2% of that market.  I wonder if the non smartphone OS is counted.  If not, I agree that it is a puzzle as the total is a lot of devices and I cannot think of any other major players that could sum to a number as large as 23% of that.

OK, forgot about things like AIX, HP-UX, main frame OS.
Plus there's a whole range of proprietary, real time OSs.
