Ok I will try to take a look at mine tonight.

Here is a pic of the feed gear cover it's held on with the 2 philips screws but did not want to come free so I put the crank handle on and gave it a turn, turning it clockwise it began to release showing 2 pins and turned it till it was removed.
(Mind you looking at the pic I see the pins)

The gear has 2 key ways cut into it (I have tapped it over to show it better) and the center part seems to be one piece that is secured to the shaft by what looks to be a taper pin.

Tom, mine is built exactly the same, I took it apart earlier today.

Sackett, it sounds like your machine might be a little different. Is this the case? Do you have an Atlas 7 or an Atlas 7B? I understand that the '7' (and some early '7B') machines used a slightly different power feed assembly (cast iron housing instead of Zamak, with a few other differences).

The easiest way to tell if you have a 7 or 7B is to check if you have a table support leg under the front of the work table. The '7' machine did not have one, '7B' machines did.
