A friend sent me this. A Russian, 2 wheel drive, floating, hill and stair climbing motor cycle. It is amazing how versatile it is. Would love to see some particulars on it.

Never been interested in motorcycles -- until OKTomT's builds, and this one appeared here! I can see wanting to own both.

Looks like it's electric powered. Wonder how long the batteries last. Pretty interesting though!
Yeah OKTom's build got me interested in motorcycles too. I like puretexan's bikes alot too and wish he'd post more.

It almost looks like the tires are inner tubes inside tire chains. Sort of....
I don't think it's electric, though. In the scene where he's cleaning it off in the water, I see some exhaust smoke, I think.

Oh yeah that does look like exhaust smoke. I think I was mistaking the transmission for a motor when he pulls it out of the water.

Pretty impressive one.
I think I saw pictures something very much like that long time ago in german or British bike book. Something like 1980?
That definately disassembles to many little parts and just fits int trunck of the small car.

I'm guessing the wheel covers are to keep out branches etc. That tire must be a lot tougher than an inner tube though or it would puncture pretty fast. I wonder what it is?

This is motorcycle is called the Tarus. Here's some more information with a link to the manufacturer-to-be's website.

It's a copy of the Rokon, a two-wheel drive motorcycle that has been made in the US for 50 years or so.
http://www.rokon.com/
The wheels are hollow for buoyancy, and on some models would double as additional fuel tanks for extended endurance away from base. Intended as a tool for farmers, loggers and other rugged outdoors types, it is a real no-frills workhorse. Lots of interesting accessories.

We used to have the EcoRider in the UK. A very inetresting diesel power bike, but it went out of production years ago for whatever reason.
