Thought I would have ago at making my own Its made out of stainless steel Had to make a taper attachment for the mini lathe first so I could make tapers That's all I have but you get the idea |

Hi mfletch, nice to see you opening your photo account early in proceedings. Nice little live centre you've made there and a lovely surface finish on the taper. I've recently made a MT3 live centre based on the Matosa design and added a few improvements of my own. I used a piece of driveshaft from an old Albion lorry axle for the taper shank,2x 6203 2RS bearings and case hardened mild steel for the revolving head. The rotating head was machined to 60deg profile then finish machined after case hardening using a cubic boron nitride tip which produces a mirror like finish. A pipe centre is next to make.....OZ |
