Chuck,

yes drill before cutting it in half, that way the pins line up.

Just a thought, when thinking about using it on the lathe, it's like using it on the mill but mounting the dividing head on an angle plate at 90) to the bed.

What is the advantage of mounting on an angle plate? Why not just on it's base on the cross slide?

Chuck, I was trying to illustrate how the set up would work on the lathe as you  had said, "I have no problem (yet) visualizing how it will be used on the X2, but the lathe is giving me problems." I may have just complicated things. You would only need the angle plater if you didn't have a mill.

Matt, I'll take a picture of my pattern mock-up on my lathe and post it for your comments. That is, I'll do that tomorrow. It's Happy Hour here and I'm getting ready to grill a steak!
