Rotary table question
« on: August 23, 2013, 09:47:03 AM »
Having never used one are all these 4" rotary tables able to mount on my myford cross slide and actually rotate while machining is going on if the tool is mounted in lathe chuck and work piece in another chuck attached to the table ? Or could I be in for a bit of movement from it as in chatter.
Should mention that I would be facing rotary table horizontal and fitted chuck towards lathe chuck.

Provided you aren't clime milling will take up any back lash in the rotary table , but I would put a piece of string with a weight on it round the chuck to be safe , the danger point is when the cutter is coming out of the job .
