Hi all
On another forum, a member was after a woodworking lathe and was offering the Granville Senior as a swap..
I have a Record 24dml machine that I bought second hand a few years ago, it had been used once by the original owner and due to the dust it created, he decided that wood turning wasn't for him!!
I bought the machine plus a full set Marples chisels, I then acquired a chuck set for it...
I never managed to set it up either as one of my sheds collapsed through old age (went rotten!!) so the contents went in to my already full garage!!
anyhow, next weekend i'll be nipping down to Derby to do the swap, i'm going to have to clear a place in my other shed as I made a bench of 8"x2", when I screw some 1/4" steel to it, it'll do the job!
The Granville was actually being used to turn wooden spindles so will probably be full of wood dust!!

Some tooling that will come with the machine..

It looks as though it only comes with the changewheels that are fixed to the lathe but i've read that most stuff for the Myford7/Super7 will fit so there should be plenty to go at!!!
Can't wait until next week now to have a 'play' with it!!

Does anyone have experience of these machines, it's much different to my old Faircut lathe and looks like the headstock has grease nipples instead of oilers
Cheers, John
