Yes i know about the lip that sets into the cylinder I was just wondering because mine is a compound if there is any advantage in giving the lipped side a recessed area. My thoughts are it would increase the presure due to the expanding steam, it would use a little more steam but could feed the second cylinder better.any thoughts?
I have started cutting the cast iron 5" dia seems to take a while one more to go and I belive I have a piece 1 " x12 x12 that may work for the steam chests.
