Hi Folks I`m a noobie so be gentle with me - I`m looking for some ideas on how to fit a quill DRO on my Warco VMC 6x26 mill. I`m looking at one of the cheapo vertical readouts but need some ideas on how to attach to my quill and how to attach ot5her part to machine/non moving part? Any photos of similar installations would be great and words of advice welcome. Thanks Paul |

Hi John That looks a good idea - I know Aldi, Lidl etc sometimes have verniers for about £8.00 I will look out for one. Cheers Paul |

This is mine, cost £14 at Warco on an open day. I must get rid of that silly handwheel on the front, I never use it anyway. |

Hi, I've fitted 2 to 2 different machines... Old machine - Sorry about the massive pic's. the were a while ago before the re-sizer. Can't alter them now as they are in other threads and may be destroyed in them! There is a bit between the collar and the DRO so they are tied together... I just don't have a pic or the machine anymore. My newer mill' has a simpler affair on it, jjust made an extension plate and fixed the bottom to the bit that already stuck out of the quill :) No photo's oddly  But you can see it in this vid... Click on the pic' Incidentally... Arbalist, You never use your fine quill feed? :jaw: I use mine all the time... And modified it as in the vid' above to make a great automated fine boring rig. Hope something in there helps? I've got hundreds more pic's if you wanted to see any? Ralph. |
