The rail-anvil got a new face. =)
« on: March 11, 2013, 03:23:30 AM »
So my old beat up piece of rail hade aquired alot of rust. And i thought i should fix it. Before i would use a flapdisk on the angle grind and well smooth it out a bit.. But i figure i would see what the Aciera F3 small mill could do with it. So i have this 4 carbide insert holder, surface/corner mill.. i call it a crab.. And its mounted on a modified arbor sitting in a 20mm collet. The machine was set to 1500rpm, the feed to maximum and way we went, 70% of the crabs capacity at a depth of 1mm per pass. It was sparklers flying everywhere i felt like i was standing in a furnace. But it went well. And the result was way better then my angle grinder could achieve. =)

Machinery: Optimum D320x920, Optimum BF20L, Aciera F3. -- I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. http://www.roughedge.se/blogg/
