Cheers Dek.

P.S. Don, there is 2" insulation up there somewhere.

I'm sitting very cosy. Perhaps doing a bit of snow clearing from time to time but my children have phoned to see that we are all right. Our neighbours have phoned  or dropped in. Thank you Christine for the milk- that didn't get through to the factory in Ponteland. You'll make up the loss for the production but thank you for sending your staff home. Again, thanks to the Gas people who came in less than an hour to  put in a new blower to our heater having spent hours searching for parts- for two old people.

Thanks to our son who put the snow tyres on the Mini Cooper. Hope we don't have to risk coming out of a long, uncleared cul de sac.

Thank you to our son in law who risked his neck to get into the hospital to put a series of Stents in people that were very unlucky to need help in weather like this. He's given up his garage space-to give some one storage when the building work  was stopped because of the weather.

Thank you to the unknown driver who brought enough loaves to the local supermarket-- and another for the Sunday Times. Thank you to the postie who brought me a rather damp letter to remind me that my pension cheque is in the bank- and the thoughts that -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have never had to work-----------------------------------------------for the last 27 years.

So dream on- for a little while but remember that I don't have to get up. You do.

I'm one of the few Canadians that actually likes winter.

Here's a part of my commute from this morning... yes, seriously. :)  Most of it looks about the same.

Some higher resolution ones here:

I'm sure I can be outdone, as this really isn't much snow - even for here.  I'm just happy to finally see some real Winter weather instead of just the cold, damp, dark days that go with it.

tumutbound:
There's a mountain (well, big hill really) about 20 kms from me that sometimes has snow on it.
That close enough for me.
AussieJimG:
Tumutbound's big hill is about 200km from me and that's close enough.

But we sometimes get snow here, even in summer. One year we had a white xmas (and that's in the middle of summer).

Right now, it is in the mid 30's - you could cook eggs in your hat.
