Photobucket/ ImageShack.......
« on: January 11, 2013, 12:46:00 PM »
Pbucket, have once again put me on their strange, convoluted system.

I've messed about, again. And got totally smockravelled, again.  :bang:

I've opted for the old system, again.

Seems, I can manage very nicely, using ImageShack.......

As ImageShack seems simple enough, even for me......

Is there any reason, that I shouldn't abandon Pbucket, after all these years?

Still modifying bits of metal... Occasionally, making an improvement!

Well David, I'm easy if it works then use it :-)

Photobuckets newest evolution (debatable as to it being a good one?) was floored when I tried it. I turned it back to the old version in order to add my latest pic's.

Now. Got to ask..... What the heck is that then?  :)

Hi Roy.
Some years ago, while using Linux. Pbucket lost some pics, plus all my vids........  :bang:

Since reverting to Windoze, and YouTube........ Pbucket has been stable, most of the time.

All I want, is a reliable, simple, storage system for my forum pics. NOTHING else.......

Ralph, Rob.

That's just a random pic, I've uploaded.........

I was given that, around 1960..... "Ere yer are lad. A rev counter for yer motorbike"........

It stayed with me until last year, when I auctioned it for Rainbows......   http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about50976.html

Here's another random pic. Is it a better size....... Or, a bit too big?

Think it's a bit big, meself.......

The only reason that I can think of is that if you stop using Pbucket then after a while you will lose all the photos that you have inserted in the various posts. I believe this happens if there is no activity for a certain period of time. I believe Rob Wilson may know more about that. Other than that overall all the photo hosting sites will have some good points and some bad points.

I would like to see the members get together and put together a site for downloading photos to that would manage the photos even after a member quits or passes on to the next world. All those red x's leave a post kind of hard to read and useless. There was a good example on MadModder this week of that happening but with luck Rob saved the day (thanks Rob) and brought the thread back to life again.

Comments??

Cheers

Hi Don.
Yes, the inactivity timescale........ I've got a lot of pics, out there.

Would it be possible to make a forum run, system? (That I can understand).

My F*%k up with photobucket was due to exceeding bandwidth so they locked the account /WANTED CASH :bang: at the time I was posting on at least five forums .

The save on Bernd post was easy sort of , luckily  I had printed the post to PDF as you do for things that interest one . When I reactivated the post I was not intending to redo the photos ,but as there was interest I thought I would give it ago ,  I found I could select the photos in the PDF , then convert them to JPEG and upload them, edit post  and bobs ya uncle post fixed .
