Drill Grinding Jig
« on: December 30, 2012, 05:41:46 AM »
Hi Guys
This is a little jig I built many moons ago, it has a capacity of 3 to 13 mm. apart from the drill point angle, all other angles and settings are adjustable. The main feature is the adjustable caliper which enables the initial setting for any size of drill within its capacity, I have sharpened drills up to 25mm, but much more care must be taken, and consideration for the morse taper. This jig has given sterling service for many years, and a workshop addition I would recommend.
The design is by MULTIPLEX  and the build was detailed in some old M.E.'s I borrowed some time ago, circa 1950's.

                                                                   Cheers  David

David,

that jig looks good, I have one of the cheapo ones but never got it to work very successfully so resorted to grinding them by eye! Buy cheap buy twice I guess, I seem to learn be taught that lesson a lot!
