Hi Dave.
Re the new bits, all will become clear in time (pun intended).
I know what you mean about the fence panels, I was knackerd after putting in just 4 of the things.
"Men in sheds" was started in OZ some years ago and in this part of the world was started about two years
ago by Age UK with lottery funding. There are four "sheds" in Cheshire and they are a place to go for any
bloke over 55, where you can carry on with any hobby (mainly woodwork), learn new crafts Etc. or just
go for a brew and a natter. The pics show part of the Crewe shed, Some of the blokes (for those that
don't know me, that is me sitting at the front, green coat, black cap, and hairy face ) The last one shows
the "shed" with Joe the co-ordinator on the right. Well you did ask. :palm: :palm: :palm:
Cheers Dek. :med:

Good idea, not one around here AFAIK.
Looks a damn sight warmer than my garage.
There was a Ch4 programme some years ago about Aussies & Sheds, I think I may have it on DVD somewhere ..
Unless I've slung it ... :palm:

Hi Folks. Done a bit more at the clock this morning and I am quite pleased with the results. The clock face will be a piece of black "Perspex" mounted on an ally frame with brass covers on the sides. The brass is 16 gauge and I wanted to mitre the corners. I did it using a 10mm 90 degree spot drill as a milling cutter, and much to my surprise it worked a treat. :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: The pic of the joint is not too good, but the joint is good.

Eyup, he's done a bit more ...
A bit belated from 9 May .... something else I've missed ... :palm:
Very nice bit of mitreing there Deko, never would I think of using a spot-drill, but you and it did a good job.
Was never any good at mitreing wood in my model boat days. Some of the 'joints' I made were hideous. The rest were nowhere near as good ....
Anyway, just checking .... carry on with the good work. Onward and Upward ...

Thanks for the kind words Dave, I was never much good at mitre joints myself so I was very surprised when these turned out OK  I used the spot drill instead of a proper dovetail cutter, because I wanted to cut to a scribed line on the inside of the plates, and I would not have been able to see the line if using the dovetail cutter as the plates would have to have been mounted the other way up.
I think this job must be jinxed as I have not had time to do very much more since cutting those joints. I have been lumbered with jobs like the one shown below. I.E. renovating a Bentley continental. YUK.
Cheers Dek. :med:
