CNC and Raspberry Pi

I'm getting/got arthritis in my hands. Not grumbling but merely explaining!
I have a spare little Unimat clone, a couple of computer flat screens etc and wonder whether anyone has used a Raspberry Pi etc to drive the thing. The RP is because of its size in an  already overcrowded workshop.

So has anyone any pointers which might help, please?
