Revolving cylinder engine

I made a video of a engine that was completed about four years ago. The idea for the engine came from a website that shows animated engines of all kinds to show how they work.
http://www.animatedengines.com/revcyl.html
I was so intrigued by it I had to build one. About two years after it was completed I discovered Google patents and found out who built it and when, click onto the link to see the original patent.

Splendid
It doesn't seem to vibrate while running, so you must have done some careful balancing. I'm surprised that the reciprocating piston doesn't make it jump around a bit.

I've cut the end off it twice, but it's still too short

andyf The piston does not reciprocate It is a very simple engine to look at but is very complex to design. Take a close look at the counterweight it is not big enough! When I run it faster than on the video it starts to jump around and when the counterweight is taken off it jumps all over the place! This engine is my all time favorite, I always love to see it run.

Nice one!
I can imagine the headache designing it just for the intake and exhaust flows and the valve timing

Ironman, that's an amazing engine, and beautifully built. Did you work out the design on your own from the animation, or did you have plans?
