Hi to all, yes, I am new here as of this evening.
I am a retired, after 39 years, Plant Supervisor of a small private College. Since I retired I built and did the test flights on a Zenith 701 airplane. Sold the airplane and went into building access panels and miscellaneous parts for Experimental Aircraft Builders. I built up a home brew CNC system that does most of the machining of stuff that I sell. I started with a K2CNC frame, added a set of HobbyCNC steppers and controller, use Mach3 and CamBam for software, and I am having a ball making stuff. Along the way I added a small 7X10 lathe and just recently a horizontal hack saw.
For hobby stuff, I have built several small air operated motors, recently finished building a Mendocino Motor project, and am now working on the Weston Bye Magnetic Clock. I will post some of the pictures of those projects when I get a chance so you can see the kind of stuff that I am interested in.
My background and interests include Software Development, Flying, Amateur Radio (WB8BGY), everything electronic, building small machining projects as I learn machining.
I am very involved with my local EAA304 Chapter. Serve as the Secretary, Young Eagle Coordinator, and the Newsletter Editor. I also involved in the Local Airport Board as a member of the Advisory Committee.
I enjoy taking part in forum's, and unless chased away, will probably become an active poster.
Guess that is about it for now.
George
