Clamp hangers in the shop
« on: May 11, 2012, 08:28:31 AM »
After I stopped manufacturing cage bird play toys, I decided to change over the basement to other of the shop hobbies. One of which is wood turning /pen making. In using The hard surface counter material and gluing up other material to turn pen bodies.  You use a lot of the 6" spring clamps, I tried a number of things.

And then when I took down some dowels that were used to hold spools of plastic chains. I had an idea, with a short spacer over the screw I screwed them into the bottom of the floor joists. Enough distance from the bottom of the joist to slip over the clamp.

Here they are in place.

here is a close up of the spacer, the screw in the dowel at the end was to fix a split in the end.
It keeps the clamps handy, and yet out of the way and stored neatly. It is located overhead of the bench where I do glue ups!

and I'm working on the first two!
