Hello world !
ParCan:
Several ppl have messaged me about building a RepRap.
to answer the FAQ's....
Build the Prusa mendel. http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page
It'll cost you < £500 to build one. How much less depends on what you already have/ make /scavenge.
Get the frame Square - I mean as square as you can get it.
Don't skimp on the motors.
Start with a 0.5mm Print Nozzle size.
Start printing with PLA on to Blue 3M Painters tape.
Good luck with your RepRap builds. It's a great fun project and very rewarding.

Hi Alex
As said, welcome to the collective :borg:
I'm thinking you'll fit in just fine. A project log on your paddleduck build will I'm sure be well received too
Don't worry about the writing... Small amount of text and a few choice pictures is a good way to go , then we can all sit back and see where you're upto without bothering with too much of that reading nonsense! :coffee: :)
A few notes in whatever section suits about this 3D printing would be nice too... I have seen them but never really looked into the quality of the components produced etc. One for the future eh?
Basically, enjoy yourself and let us know about the results :headbang:

I second that request... if you don't mind, maybe a quick overview of how it works??
Thanks!

Hi Guys.
Thankyou all for your very warm welcome.
Trying to summarise 3D printing is not easy.
I will however as requested do some sort of write up on the whole subject during the week.
I'm learning that the Puddleduck is rather hard to make with just a Lathe and a milling slide.
I'll get there but the scrap bin is going to overflow soon !
Alex.
