The 1800! Ah, the  great British and hopefully long extinct Land Crab.

I passed my test, on an NSU Quickly moped.......

My passion wagon was a Reliant van.

But, I'm a lot older than 50!  :D

I passed my test on a Silent( LE) Velocette and my car ones on a Morris 8 1935 and a Side Valve Morris Minor that had had 5 new engines and 3 new gearboxes in its life. No heater but one of those funny electric de-misters. At least the Velocette had a radiator!

I taught the kids at 14 on my Seat 127 left hand drive on the back of a Spanish  beach.
Most English people seem to change gear on 'Cuddy Hander's'  by winding the window handles up and down.

Ah yes, the Velo Noddy bike. How we Triumph riders sneered in those day. And at BSA Bantams too. :hammer:

Today there are clubs just for those machines and I could not afford one! Just as well I still have one Triumph.

I was having a thought and two of our cars have 'Cherished' numberplates. One  is an old Northumberland plate whilst the other is County Durham-- and came from a -- family Lagonda

I recall my 'Noddy bike' which was so quiet that I actually drilled a hole in the exhaust. It had square tappets- such was the nature of things. I liked the running boards and the car type gear change which reminds me!

When 'Red Bitch' arrived( yes) my father had a go and sort of run along side waiting for the plugs to fire- and he hopped on. Apparently, this was the old method to charge into the distance with the exhaust valve lifter in operation. Of course, when it eventually fired he was too knackered to hop on

'Noddy' cars- well, there were about 23 if I recall. Seat in Barcelona made a few on Seat 500 or was it 600 chassis's? I found one in 'my village' in Menorca in a desperate state but 'Little Mice' were cheap and I planned to bring the 'Noddy' and a couple home to the Uk in a return load furniture van.  I was doing a City and Guilds in Motor Vehicle Restoration and had access to a English wheel. The seats were wicker and the folks in the local Blind School would re- furbish the chairs! And it didn't happen. The little Noddy is buried as infill in the local Menorquin football ground! I sort of go past it on my way to the fish and chip lunch run by Age Concern and feel very cross. :hammer:

I've a few happier moments. There is a Spitfire still airworthy from my days with it. Two of the 31 Squadrons RAF Devons from my days as a callow youth are also preserved and the once Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Devon VP-981 is still airworthy.
A bass fiddle and me were 'crew' one day.

When my time comes, my wife has vowed to have me stuffed and returned to my old RAF unit- which is now a rather famous London museum. So be nice, one day I shall be famous!

Dribble, dribble dribble David D, that is one really nice machine.

Mine is something of a parts bin special but I rebuilt it from the ground
up and it has a few home made parts in it.

Now let's see if I can include a photo

That's VERY nice Jim!

My pic was taken around 1964.
I traded in, for a brand new 1965 BSA Lightning. Which was a frustrating load of chrome plated problems, from day one........  :bang: :bang:

You have yours, and can ride...... I can only wish, these days.  :(

Enjoy!

Can't add much to this apart from one remaining scratty pic. from way back. August 1973 ..

Mr. Stilldrillin was not alone in being stuffed by the british motor-cycle Industry .. ( hawk, spit, ptooing )

My 750 Bonneville was 1 part Bonny, 749 parts  Evil.
Useless crap.  :bang:

Anyway, my mate's dad, Judy the pooch and some obscenity in the later to become infamous blue pully. The Bonny is behind ..

Should I advertise that as a plus point?  There are no marks on either of these and the foot pegs dont look like they have ever been straightened either.
