I scraped the underside of mine flat, to increase the contact area and friction.

The present cross slide top surface, base block, and toolpost, will almost wring together.

The original set up, left a lot to be desired.......  :palm:

Future knife tools will also need canting to the left, as their cutting edge is gradually sharpened away.......

The way I see it we all make and mod' stuff to our own specific needs.
