Hi Eric,

I restored a 'Benson' type gyroglider a few years ago, it's a one or two seat autogyro, to be towed along a long runway behind a car, the amount of height realised depends upon the length of tow rope.

My efforts in the restoration involved redesigning the joystick control system, and the 'rotorhead' assembly (hence my nick), which involved making up an all sealed ballrace type of 'gimbal head'.

I'm afraid it's now dismantled, and stored on the shop materials racking, the only part of the rotorhead assembly left, is the rotorblade hub bar.

Thanks Guys for the welcome,

I'm sorry I don't have any recent photos of the gyroglider, only a scan of an old non-digital photo, my mate took whilst I was 'kiting' in a 30-40 mph wind at Goxhill airfield in North Lincolnshire.

I didn't even own a camera then, I really wish I did now, but with the advent of digital, everything can now be snapped for posterity.

It was late afternoon on 05/01/91, and very cold, the daylight was fading fast but it was the only opportunity for us.
