I didn't really count the hours but it went quite quickly, certainly less than the time it took to do the hit & miss in my avitar and I timed that at 150hrs so maybe 100hrs??
While making it I also finished the IHC vertical, did a bit to my Fowler Traction engine and have made a good start on a 1/2 scale Domestic stovepipe hit & miss. Oh and pulled the spindle out of my lathe to replace the bearings.

Very nice work, and the detail is awesome.Well done! I don't know much about these types of motors,or steam for that matter but I
do like admiring the craftsmanship of them.My question is what would something like this have been used for in the full size version?
Would there be more than one in use or were they designs that never made it off the drafting table for lack of a practical use?
Once again nice job!

Thanks for all the kind comments guys.
Shoprat, an engine like this depending on its size would have been used to power a small workshop or mill or other small industrial unit usually by driving overhead lineshafting which then drove the individual machines. W. Benson offered this design in several different horse powers and also had a range of other engines, etc.
