Its time I said Hello
« on: December 24, 2011, 10:10:53 AM »
Hello to all.

I have been hanging out on this great forum for about a year or so reading and learning lots so I thought I should be a little more polite and introduce myself.
My name is Bert and I am living in the wilds of North Western Ontario Canada. I am retired and a long time sailor, canoeist, RC modeller, hobby metal worker and builder of stuff.
I am not the type who will post a lot because I try to follow my mother’s advice, “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt”. I will however make an effort to contribute when I think I have something  helpful  to offer.
Thanks for a great form….regards  Bert

HI ya Bert

Welcome to the collective :borg:

No fools here. Speak up all you want. Makes it easier to learn and teach. Besides, if no one spoke up, there would be no forum! So please, talk away.

Eric

Bert

Hi and welcome to the MadModder forum. Glad to have you on board. If you have any questions just ask as there is always someone around to answer or at least give an opinion. I know what the winters are like up there so I hope you have plenty of firewood cut to keep the shop toasty warm till spring. We look forward to your participation in the forum.  :D :D

Cheers

Thanks for the warm welcome gents.

Eric ..Your comment about pic of airplanes and canoes made me realise that in about 25 years of RC aviation I do not have a single photo. I must have built 25 or so aircraft and never thought to take a photo… Kind of dumb now that I reflect on it and have moved away from model aviation to pursue other interests
.
Don… Yes indeed I have a serious wood pile for the shop, and the house. One of the goodies I built was a decent hydraulic wood splitter and as with the aircraft   no pictures!  I have to get a camera.

Regards …Bert
