Hi to one and all, my name is John and thanks for having me.
I retired from the Royal Navy 1990 after 25 years, then in 97 I fell into the music business by managing my son and subsequent bands until 2005.
My interests are Motorbike restoration, a bit of model engineering, and model boats.
I have a 5" Boxford CUD and all the usual odds and sods that accompany the work shop but as yet no mill.
I live Gosport Hampshire UK for my sins.
So that's it in a nut shell.
John

Hiya John!

Welcome to the collective :borg:

As I bike nut, I would like to hear more about the motorcycle restoration! Are we talking classic British? Italian? Something else?

Hi to the collective, thanks for the welcome gentlemen.
Eric/John my bikes are Japanese a Honda CB1100r 1982 and a Yamaha XZ550 both in bits and ready for some loving care.
Dave, I was in Vernon MCM2 Bronington, Bossington, early 80s, Still and West is all as you say UPVC, Vernon became Gunwharf and is now yuppie housing and a massive shopping center V V V expensive.

Welcome to the collective John  :borg:

I spent 8 happy months living in the Oaklawns "Hotel" (guest-house would be a better description) in Gosport, commuting to Portsmouth every day - that added a few miles to my car, except for the couple of times I used the ferry)... Nothing to do with the Navy, though most of the other inhabitants of the hotel were doing Navy stuff.

Happy days...
Cheers!
Ade.

Peter, I have only recently decided to make a start again in model boats, my intended model will be HMS Bronington, the model should work out to approx(old money) 8 foot or (new money) 2.4 meters.

Very cool on bikes... I pretty much like any two wheeled vehicle!

Would love to see a project log on any of those and the boats!
