I'm SteveM, self-employed(music store), and recently caught the home machine shop fever. Figured if I didn't do it now I may be running out of chances so here I am. I've lurked here for a while and this is a GREAT group.
I presently have an OLD Atlas 6" lathe(a purchasing error), a HF 8 1/2 x 18 lathe which works well within it's limitations, and recently added at 12x36 ShenWai lathe from the 80's. I also have a HF bench top mill which has been a good learning experiece. Both the mill and the Shen Way have required minor work but it's been fun. I'm 65 and feel fortunate to have found an "older" gentleman who's taken an interest in me and has been generous with his time and experience which is a HUGE help.
I've rambled on a some length so thanks for your patience. Look forward to getting better acquainted as time goes on.
