HI all not dun a lot as its getting too cold to work in me workshop  I have started to mack the slides for the Cross slide i need 4 of them they need to be 6mm x 6mm as per i do not have any and the price of a length was to much for me  so i chopped a Peace of brass of a block of brass that i have witch is 40mm x 70mm  then i made up a holding plate out of a lump of aluminum  witch is 100mm x 80 x 30 marked of the middle drilled 12.8 mm  then reamed 13 mm and with sum Bering fit and with the vice preset in a length of bar for holding the block in the 3 jaw chuck  then i face  the block off and drilled a relief in the center of the block then i glued the brass to the block with super glue and direst one side off then removed the hole lot and with a bit of heat from a blow torch the brass fell of let it cool dawn put the block back in to the lathe and re face the block  this is to remove the glue and to keep this face true glue the brass back on to the block with the new face facing the block and then machen dawn the brass to 6mm  right pics
