Flycutters.
« on: July 23, 2011, 10:12:50 AM »
Hello all,
Just thought some of you would like to see a couple of flycutters that I made for a mate, The larger one uses a Walter "Novex" 25x25 Toolholder and the smaller uses a Sandvik Coromant12x12.
When used with uncoated positive inserts they give a superbly smooth uniform finish with very low cutting forces and virtually no "Spindle hammer"  I have tested the larger 1 at up to 0.70mm depth of cut and it still remains very easy on the machine. Change to coated positive inserts and the finish becomes mirror like [due to the CVD/PVD coating decreasing the sharpness of the cutting edge. but forces still remain very low.
The bodies are machined from EN24T [4340 in the US of A] and the ISO 30 arbor is from EN16T [not sure of the AISI number for it].
                                                                                                                     Regards,
                                                                                                                  Udimet.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the  bodies are interchangeable with the arbor.

It's very hard to see your'e item when you have such a bigg photo. You will be a winner if you make the picture smaller.  :headbang:

Udimet,
I was hoping you wouldn't ask

I'm pretty useless when it comes to computers and programmes.

So here's my bit - The programme that came with the camera has an "Export" (thing) I just export it to my desktop as a 640 x 480 size.

Or another way is to Email the photo - again from the camera software. My software puts it in an attachment in an Email. I copy it (the attachment) to my desktop.

Thats my way - cause it is nice and simple - and I like simple, goes well with me

Thanks boys, I have found out how to resize them after I have downloaded them from the camera so, if ever I upload a photo to the forum I will know how to do it. many thanks,
