Screwcutting

Just a little screwcutting. M39x4 on a freaking 3000mm workpiece!  :D It took a long time since i was never over 100rpms and did everything with toolbit but it looked great when it was finished

Now that looks a little dangerous!

But as long as you keep your attention on everything and besides that uses your head everything will be just fine!

I'd have preferred to have that other end restrained/ supported!

Should have turned the mill vise thru 90 and nailed a quick box up out of pallet wood to support the end in the vise.
Bit of grease around the wood and you would be good to go for about 7,000 rpm

Had that same thought but increased the speed bit by bit and there was absolutely no problems, the workpiece was nice and straight, no vibration, good snug fit in the spindle and a strong chuck was enough.
John Stevenson:
Is that one of those lathes with the sexy tailstock ?
