Just received a Bowers metrology catalogue which is well recommended,  Moore and Wright sell micrometers upto 1800mm-2000mm.

We had a 6 footer for checking prop shafts on floating drill rigs.

no, it was from the 60's, some Rolls shafts.

I think they've been banned anyway.
