Midsummer
« on: June 21, 2011, 12:40:05 AM »

I thought I would just remind all my northern hemisphere friends it’s Midsummer, that means it’s downhill to winter. :( :( :(

But for all of us in the southern hemisphere it downhill to summer :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb: :ddb:

If that is the case Dave, when are we going to get our sunshine, or do we now have to wait until next year?

Dont look our way Bogs,  we dont have your sun.  The bricklayers were here today working on our front fence, 7:30 to 17:30,  dark when they arrived and dark when they departed and we are not even 45 degrees of latitude. :coffee:

I think I've spotted the reason for the workmen being there too long John...

Personally I'd usually use a carpenter of a fencer not a bricklayer... They hardly know how to grunt correctly, let alone put a fence up!

Personally I blame all the solar panels :bugeye: they suck all the power from the sun and it gets cloudy & wet. :loco:
except here  :)

75Plus,

It was raining here in NY, that's not the city BTW, but it's awful humid. Spent the moring in the garage cutting up stock for the Four Truck Shay project.

Hope thos solar panels fail this weekend. Going to the River for a bit of relaxation with SHMBO.

Sunny in Finland - as usually.

Just kidding. Yesterday here was a thunder, hailstorm and some gusty wind. When I went check the mail I got not only a good exfoliating shower of hails, but also a bucket load of pine cones from the three. This is a second time I would have better off with a helmet to experience mild summer wind.

We normally have a soddy weather for midsummer, probably to keep all protestant from drinking, eating, sauna, swimming and specially high spirited and BBQ food & alcohol beverage fuelled extreme sports.

Almost like first time when I wisited good old UK. The BA flight attendant said merrily "There is fresh wind outside!" when I was stepping out to the tarmac. I was wondering shortly what she meant. I was not very familiar with British weather lingo. The school was clearly missing something on that quarter. Bloody hell! It was a gale force wind with good measure of rain! And I was dressed to go Miami.

I would rather have a rainy day.. of course the grass is always greener and all that.

It is so hot and humid I cant do anything in the garage till after the sun has been down for an hour, and I have the 48" giant fan on its full 35000 CFM, and a small ocillator running at full to re-direct air.
And I still have sweat dripping into my safety goggles.

The hot is great and all that.. but I would love to move to a more neutral climate.

No need to wait for the machines to warm up down here LOL

Met. Office has threatened us with 29 - 32 o C Sunday and Monday ....

Knowing their reputation, I'll check the central heating ....  ::)

... and my electric blanket .

I ain't got a fan ...  :(

In any case, all it would do is act like a fan-oven .. burnt all over instead of just the top of me napper ..

So ... bu99er it ...

Blinded with sweat anyway ..

BC

BTW I would have thought you hardy Geordies would be having a melt today ..
Surely it would use less gas, seeing as the stuff would be hot to start with ???
