Hi all.
Another newbie joining up, I am a guy very close to retirement looking to set up my own model eng' workshop in the near future. Have served my apprenticeship as fitter/turner then went into plant maintenance & worked my way up to various roles as site/plant/maint engineer over the years, working on contracts all over the Middle East, Russia,North Sea plus having a couple of years in the MN.Have spent the past 20 years involved with training apprentices & adult students in the weird & wonderfull world of nut splitting, metal bashing, metal removal, replacing bits & pieces(some weird stuff called pumps & turbines

) etc. so have a little understanding of the art.
Having looked through the forum I'm amazed at how much has slipped from the old grey matter from years ago & how much there is still to glean, even at my elderly years :

I have taken a special interest in guys who have written about their workshop set up..with pics of equipment etc, as this is my planned project over the next couple of years.I already have a lathe/mill combo, of chinese origin & have made a start with some tooling & bits (which I will post providing I can upload pics), in the future.
Looking forward to more interesting forum items & chat
