Hello from North Texas
« on: May 12, 2011, 09:15:17 PM »
Howdy;

Have enjoyed lurking for a short while, lots of interesting info and projects here.

I am a "Professional Hobbiest"    Actually my conditon is "OCD Hobbiest"

Quite brand new to Metalworking, but I aint sceered of taking it on!

Ex-woodworking, ex-game call turning.  Still have a closet full of Plastic Model airplane kits.
I dont want to talk about RC airplanes, thats just a nightmare memory of visa bills, epoxy fumes and greasy airframes.  :whip:

I have a number of interests. Guns, Little engines that could, seeing your projects and dreaming of doing the same...that kind of thing

Have thought of getting some metalworking tools for some years.
Then a while back, I got a nice .22 silhoutter action and barrel, that needed a stock.
So the stock got ordered, and of course it will cost oh, about $350 to have it milled to fit the barrel and action.

So instead of paying someone else  $350 ("tree-fity") I just spent 15x that and bought a Mill and Lathe....

OCD is an awesome afflication when treated correctly :)

best regards,
bryan

HIi,

"OCD Hobbiest"

You are in good comppany! Just gloat your conquests here and I'm sure you'll get our deepest sympathy. Honestly.

Hopefully you'll get diagnosed early and treated better than I did. One point I could have no clothes on the three bedroom apartment closets, because all closets were filled with fishing, huntiing, skiing, RC and you name it stuff. Now I have a wife and a kid and my daughter still has one closet full of compound bow and fly-rod related stuff.

Sweet. I have an opinion about Nokia and where that company is heading, but we are not discussing politics here.

Nice triggerguard. Hope it fares better than my old Winchester 109 or what was that semiauto that firing pin eventtualy eats part of chanber away and then catrideg come out lookking funny.

Once more: Well come.
