Powersource and processing power will be onboard.
The current plan is to use Lithium polymer batteries for power. A Roboard RB-100 will be the onboard controller.
* The RB-100 is basically a small PC designed specifically for robotic applications.

Target weight for this robot is 3kgs.
The servos have a torque rating of 28.5kg-cm and operate from 4V-9V. These are made by a company in Japan called V-stone with robotics in mind. One nice thing about these is that unlike your typical hobby servo for RC vehicles, the servo cases have features that make it easy to mount for robots.

Thank you for your concern! Here in Osaka, we were pretty lucky in that earthquake (and the nuclear powerplant issue) didn't significantly affect food or fuel. As I understand, there are still problems in the areas directly affected by the quake - but things are slowly returning to normal.
