Hi Rob, that is truly a master's bit of work on that crank, and I am going to be following your demonstration of the proper way to set up to turn the shafts on my next crank. I've got three pieces of 1 and 3/4 round stock each with three reamed holes in them, which have been getting progressively thinner as each time they go together with pins and shafts, they get further out of true. :hammer: :headbang: It is time for them to be scrap, and a proper crank assembled, and you have shown the way. I've seen many variations on the method, but your description of finding the exact diameter of the piece holding it in alignment is the best way I've ever seen and I will be using it in my next build. :bow: This engine should be a real runner when you're finished. :beer: Cheers, Jack |
