Hello from a newbie from Wiltshire (UK)
« on: February 22, 2011, 08:18:45 AM »
Hello, im Jonny im 45 and was born with call it watt you want but I have fingers on both hands missing, but I am definatley not dissabled and do not feel any different to any body else.

I have allways enjoyed pulling things apart and sometimes manage to put them back together again ( only joking)
I have a small workshop at home and having owned a Clarke cl430 lathe/ mill for a few years i have now moved on to a Colchester student and also own a Seig 3 mill .

I enjoy using these machines to do basic jobs and have learned quite a bit from trial and error (mostly error) so i might be asking some stupid questions on this EXCELLENT forum.

So a big hello and please be gentle with me,
                                                                 Jonny

Years ago i was always messing with cars and always seemed to need the use of a lathe. Thease days i have a new car and enough spare money to aford to have it maintained at the garage.

About 5 years ago a friend at work had to clear a small workshop that belonged to his late father in law and knew i had always wanted a lathe and ended up buying it . Ive made and sold parts for DIY wind turbines and also custom parts for air rifles (my other interest)

So really i just like messing around and have no plans of things to make as of yet but would like to help people out with small repairs, the sort of things that i needed doing before i owned a lathe.

                                    Thanks for the warm welcome,
                                                                                Jonny
