The new site is sort of a hybrid website/forum for steam.

I hope to get going on some interesting group-type builds on the site soon. (everyone builds the same engine at the same time, not a tradtional group build, but a parallel build really).

I like the variety of this and other sited, but I like a steam place which also incorporates historical data.

I enthusiastically read the Model Engineer from 1952 till about 1980.  I also have read Fine Woodworking since the first issue.  The advantage that publications like Fine Woodworking have is that collections of their articles are readily available.  Articles in Model Engineer are not available online earlier than about 1990 I believe.
There is a market out there for online editions - its got to be cheaper than storing and mailing out back issues.
