Just out of interest, what speed are you turning cast iron at? Usually people do it really slowly, by the look of your photos it's spinning fast - is that because the lathe hasn't got the torque for low speed? Anyway, whatever you're doing you're getting great results.

That's probably about right actually, maybe a bit slower for the flywheel though. You're doing great, better than I could.

Hi Ray, things are looking good :bugeye:  I hope you take the time to fully enjoy turning cast iron, it is nice to turn, and make such nice and smooth cylinders so easy to hone and prep for pistons.  Looks like you're doing a bang up job at getting this engine through to completion.  I'm looking forward to seeing it steaming. :poke: mad jack
