I have a baby on the way and had to down size my work shop.  The old room was remodeled and turned into a home office and my shop got moved into the old laundry room.  I still have a lot of work to do on the shop so everything isn't put in it's place, but I figured I would post a few pictures of it any way.  The room is small and around 8' X 10' and I had to put my large drill press and band saw in the garage as there wan't enough room.  Also my inspection area is placed just out side of the work shop as there wasn't enough room for that too.

I have a 9X20 lathe and a highly modified 2X mill and a lot of small power tools on the shelfs.  There is a good amount of tooling in the work benches and in boxes on the shelfs, but as you all know I could use more!  I'm currently working on a R-8 rack for above the mill and hope to have it done this week.

Thanks for looking, Dale P.

Looks great, some of the best work is turned out of shop's located in closets. Back in the olden times. Pop Mech use to have stories on guys that had shops in closets. Its a case of what ever works for you.

Here are some pictures of the old shop before moving it to the smaller room.  The CNC mill had to go too, and was sold  :(   But it will be worth it as the baby is much more exciting than a little CNC mill.

Shops gotta be where a shops gotta be.  Looks good and nicely organized. What modifications have you done to your mill?

I added a belt drive kit, new spindle bearings, longer Z axis track, and up graded the power supply to a larger more reliable one.  The larger power supply really helps and gives the machine more torque and a higher spindle speed.  I also added a new control box which includes reverse for taping.

You can see pictures of the mill if you click on the link showing my old shop.
