i now call this my modular mill kit.

it was a full length of 6061 alum 1/2" square solid stock. I then tapped 1/4-20 holes every 1". then cut into manageable lengths.
I then made an x and y axis tram setup that houses nicely in a joyo de nicarauga cigar box. The y axis is put together in the spindle. the only difference is the x axis has a longer bar. I then made an x and y axis solid stop kit with some of the material. I simply tapped 1/4-20 holes in the table and the base and mounted the stock and made some stop blocks that are moveable.
i am now working on mounting an indicator on the z axis stop block to help fine tune the axis. I have stops for the x and y that allow me to mount an indicator on them also to fine tune those movements. All for the cost of free dollars and free cents as it was all material i had in my garage. I have about 7 more feet to do with also. I am working on a poly fixture plate for drilling and an aluminum bed plate with the same bolt hole size for my t-nut kit for easy fixturing.
