I recently bought a Boxford size det from Chronos the box had Soba on it , I filed off some shap corners on the main block and the file survived so that wasn't hardened , the mesurements match the ones http://www.mscdirect.co.uk/CGI/INPDFF?PMCTLG=00&PMPAGE=675&PMITEM=TQC-79020M hear , I plan to mod the parting holder to take a blade for carbide inserts .

Just want to retract my statment earlyer the main body is case hardend but not evenly , the vees  cams and pistons are hard as are the holders .
